CalWORKs - California's welfare-to-work program would be eliminated under Governor Schwarzenegger's proposed budget. Today on Insight, what is CalWORKs, and how effective is it? Caroline Danielson, a research fellow at the Public Policy Institute of California who studies welfare and aid programs, tells you about it.

'The Simpsons in the Classroom' - For fans, "The Simpsons" is a funny and unusually long-running TV show. But for some teachers, it's also a classroom tool. A lecturer in the University Writing Program at UC Davis who has been teaching "The Simpsons" for the last decade recently co-authored a book on the subject. Karma Waltonen tells you about "The Simpsons in the Classroom."

'Rest for the Wicked' - A Sacramento novelist wraps up 20 years of work by publishing the final installment of her epic trilogy set in Gold Rush California. Naide West tells you about "Rest for the Wicked" and how she came to write the historical fiction series.

Fishtank Ensemble - A Balkan-flamenco-jazz inspired band is performing in the area this week. You'll meet the members of Fishtank Ensemble and hear them perform in our studio.
